Closer cooperation in medical training 11. Jan. 2024

The three-member Israeli delegation was received by László Mátyus, Dean of the Faculty of General Medicine, Zoltán Papp, Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs, Norbert Németh, Vice-Dean for Education, and Attila Jenei, Director of the Centre for International Education.
The guests, Anat Leibovitch, Yehuda Adler and Itzik Shmuli, stressed that they would like to strengthen links with the world-class medical education conducted at the University of Debrecen.

- At the meeting, it was discussed that two more Israeli institutions, Shamir Hospital and Assuta Rishon Lezion Hospital, should also operate as teaching hospitals of the University of Debrecen, so that our students could spend their internship year and block training there. As a long-term idea, it was also suggested that in the future, under the supervision of the Faculty of General Medicine and according to its training programme, Israeli students could also study basic subjects in their home country. In the coming months, we will examine the infrastructural and personnel conditions for closer cooperation, László Mátyus, Dean of the Faculty of General Medicine, told

Currently, 133 Israeli students are studying at the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Debrecen.
